NC-SARA Student Complaints Process

At Rutgers University, we strive to ensure that all our online students receive a high-quality educational experience characterized by integrity, effectiveness, and equitable treatment. In the course of pursuing an online education, students may encounter situations that don't meet their expectations, potentially leading to concerns or issues that require attention.

We encourage students to contact Rutgers University prior to filing a complaint with any agency. If Rutgers University is unable to satisfactorily resolve a problem, students can contact the following New Jersey state agencies or the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

Students Residing Outside of NJ

The NC-SARA student complaint process provides a standardized method for addressing grievances from students enrolled in online programs at participating institutions. If you've exhausted your institution's internal complaint procedures and the issue remains unresolved, you may file a complaint with your state's NC-SARA portal agency, which will work to facilitate a solution between you and the institution.
