Upon graduating, you will be eligible to sit for the national credentialing examination to become a Registered Health Information Administrator RHIA). Credentialed graduates hold positions in data management, finance, compliance, health record management, and other areas.

The Bilingual/Bicultural non-degree endorsement online program is designed for individuals who possess a New Jersey Standard teaching certificate or Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS) in mathematics, science, social studies, English as a second language, or elementary education and who wish to earn the Bilingual/Bicultural endorsement. Candidates will be recommended for the Bilingual/Bicultural endorsement upon completion of the 12-credit program. All 12 credits in the endorsement program must be completed online at Rutgers University.

The non-degree English as a Second Language (ESL) endorsement program offered at the GSE provides candidates with a foundational understanding of English language learning in K-12 settings; of English language instruction and assessment strategies; and of the relationships between language and culture in multilingual and diverse communities. The program is usually completed exclusively online and is designed for individuals who already possess a New Jersey Standard Teaching Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS) in a content field or elementary education. Candidates holding a New Jersey Certificate of Eligibility (CE) must successfully complete both their 15-credit program and an alternate route program prior to being recommended for the ESL endorsement.

The program is usually completed exclusively online and is designed for individuals who already possess a New Jersey Standard Teaching Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS) in a content field or elementary education. Candidates holding a New Jersey Certificate of Eligibility (CE) in ESL and Bilingual/Bicultural Education and are employed as a teacher and enrolled in an alternate route educator preparation program may also apply.

The non-degree Supervisor Endorsement Program offered at the GSE is nationally certified by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and allows certified teachers to take coursework that leads to New Jersey Department of Education certification as a supervisor within an elementary or secondary school setting. Students who enroll in this program typically seek to advance in their current role and demonstrate the core competencies needed to be effective leaders in public and private K-12 schools or higher education institutions. Candidates commonly continue to work for local school districts, charter schools, or other educational institutions while completing the required coursework. The program curriculum includes courses focusing on curriculum development at various levels, school administration, and supervision of instruction.

Led by expert faculty and informed by research-driven curriculum, the non-degree Special Education program at the GSE provides advanced preparation for certified teachers who wish to learn to address the instructional needs of students with mild and moderate cognitive disabilities. Through completion of the required courses, students will develop competencies in the assessment and remediation of students with learning disabilities and learn collaborative teaching and consultation skills. Applicants should note that this program is not aligned to any specific degree program, does not lead to a degree of any kind. Instead, it is intended for educators who already hold a New Jersey Standard Instructional Certificate or a Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS) and wish to take coursework that leads to New Jersey Department of Education certification as Teacher of Students with Disabilities within an elementary or secondary school setting.

Rutgers online Doctor of Clinical Laboratory Science (DCLS) was the first Advanced Practice Doctorate program in the U.S. created for Certified Medical Laboratory Scientists (MLS). The program prepares certified medical laboratory scientists as advanced practice healthcare practitioners dedicated to increasing the value of diagnostics through consultation as members of interprofessional healthcare teams and conduct outcomes and quality research focused on evidence of the impact of diagnostics on healthcare outcomes. Graduates are prepared to be effective leaders in many facets of the clinical laboratory science profession, particularly in advanced practice roles promoting quality health care through appropriate and cost-effective utilization of clinical laboratory services.

The Doctor of Health Informatics (DHI) is a 54-credit degree program that emphasizes the use of informatics concepts, techniques and implementations for applications in both clinical and public health care settings. The Doctor of Health Informatics (DHI) degree program is specifically designed to provide the required knowledge, skills and competencies for the adoption of best practices in informatics applications towards health and pharmaceutical applications. Students choose one of the following specialization tracks: Health Data Analytics Track; Health Information Management Track; or Pharmacoinformatics Track. From data acquisition to data mining, the Department of Health Informatics offers state-of-the-art courses and degrees for current and aspiring professionals in the health, pharmaceutical and clinical sectors.
